An Accidental Mystery At Camp Soaring Eagle by Dale McElhinney is the first book in a YA Christian mystery series. Shaun and Mack are two old friends looking forward to another fun-filled summer vacation at Camp Soaring Eagle. When they nearly get crushed by a falling tree on the way to camp, they think it's just a strange accident. Soon after arriving, the situation goes from bad to worse. As more mysterious circumstances happen, they suspect their rival camp mates. Regardless of the presumed culprits, the boys can't seem to keep enough evidence to bring to the camp director or even to the police. Shaun and Mack join forces with two other friends, T.J. and Riley. With a lot of questions and no answers, and the taunting of a rival team, the boys' faith is tried. Together they must solve the mystery or risk dying. Can they keep their faith or will it be shattered?

An Accidental Mystery At Camp Soaring Eagle by Dale McElhinney is a breathtaking adventure story about four friends that experience many disturbing and unexplained situations at a Christian camp. Is it sabotage or something more sinister? Will they be able to keep their heads and bring the perpetrator to justice while trying to help others at the same time? The book starts off with two of the main characters almost getting killed and then the adventure intensifies to terrifying proportions! One week at camp has never been so thrilling! The author's detailed descriptions brought back awesome and unforgettable memories of childhood camping. The author's writing style is engaging and I enjoyed the subtle hints of humor throughout the story. I look forward to reading more. I recommend this book to boys aged 10-13 that enjoy mysteries like The Hardy Boys and Trixie Beldon.
