After a night spent in ER, here's my advice

Yesterday, I was in the process of making mashed potatoes. Ended up cutting my hand in a freak steak knife accident.

If you aren't Canadian, let me answer a question for you. Yes, medical attention is free here, *BUT* you're not guaranteed to be seen in the first four hours. I ended waiting from 8 pm to 5 am. And then it took the one doctor on call 5 minutes to glue the cut and send me home at 6.

So what's my advice? I  have 2 pieces of advice actually. Always make sure you're up-to-date with a tetanus shot and second: get quality health insurance coverage while you're young. Do odd jobs to cover the cost if you have to because at some point in your life you're going to need it.
