Wow. That is the first word that came to mind when I read the last few words of this book. And then, wait it's over? I want more. I need more! I have not read any of Kim's books before, but I will be looking for more in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense, action, slight nod towards romance, and the way Kim told the story.

In the beginning I thought it would be confusing to have so many different point of view changes between chapters. In the past I have read two or three at the most, and this book held more than that. At first I had to remind myself of which specific storyline I was reading about to make sure I had the correct backstory to go with it. I certainly did not understand how all these different characters and plots would fit together. As I dived deeper into the book it became clearer, and by the time I was finished I actually appreciated this type of storytelling. It was interesting to get the point of view from both hero and villain, and see how their past choices brought them to this part of their life.

My favorite character was agent Devyn. She seemed so rough around the edges and I wanted to learn more about why she couldn't keep a partner. I knew there had to be more to the story then just her hard exterior. Little by little you saw her exterior soften, ever so slightly. I think she needed the right kind of partner in order for this growth to happen. Someone who would listen, not back down, and respect her as an agent. Nick was the perfect person for this job.

This story was the second in a series, however I did not feel like I had missed anything by not reading book one. I actually did not know it was book two until I researched the author more. I would love to read the first book to learn more about the mysterious Sophia, or whatever her name of the day was. Without having read it, I cannot say for certain that you should read it as well, however seems to make sense to do so.

If I had one negative thing to say it was the ending. And I won't give anything away other than it felt unresolved. I now understand it is because of the series, but at the time it left me a little bewildered. I cannot wait for the next installment so that this story can continue and shed some light on a few questions left unanswered. I highly recommend to those who love suspense, and are willing to read quickly. You will not be able to easily leave a page unturned!

I received a free copy of this book from Prism Book Group in exchange for an honest review which I have given.
