The Surprise Contest was quite successful. Thank you everyone who participated. The view hits jumped!
I'll consider throwing another contest when the count is closing in on 600!

For some time I've considered making my own book trailer. I'm going to start researching how to put one together. I'm thinking it'll be fun and an adventure.

In an earlier post, I'd said Bouquets and Motorcycles was going to be 4k words. Make that 10k words. That's what happens when my brain is running on 6 hours sleep -- make all kinds of silly mistakes. Update on progress: I'm at 6k and moving into chapter 6. I can't imagine there will be more than 10 chapters (there were 10 in the first draft).

Prologue (Bouquets and Motorcycles)

Eight-year old Ysonde didn’t remember anything about her life before they’d removed her from the abandoned apartment five years ago, but they said they’d found her in a state of deplorable filth and malnourishment; her raven-black hair snapped like dry twigs when brushed, and her fingernails so brittle they were transparent. It had taken three baths to scrub the built-up dirt from her underfed-body, but three months before she trusted any of them.
Them, of course, being her maternal grandparents and Cousin Bernie.

Goal for now: get ready for company. That translates to housework.
