I started reading a new book tonight by Bonnie Blythe. As always, she's good! Also seemed to give me the 'boot' I need to get back to my own stories.
However, it's going on for 2 am now, and I'm not going to start anything that will keep me awake into the super wee hours of the morning.
Goal for now: take my Kobo and go to bed.
Excerpt Orchids for Roses:
Kyle was the first to offer his hand. "I’m glad Deborah finally has someone dependable on the payroll.""This is Kyle, Mick." She made the introductions."Hey." Mick enthusiastically returned Kyle’s handshake."How did you two meet?" Kyle asked."I’m staying with the Sherman’s place. Deborah was nice enough to offer me a job," Mick explained. "Like, not many people take on a hitch hiker at face value."Deborah groaned inwardly. Why did he have to include that last disclosure?Kyle cocked his head. "Hitch hiker?"Here it comes. She deliberately kept her head down and carefully made much ado about boxing up the finished corsages."I’ve got a delivery for you to make, Mick," she announced. "Would you mind running them into town for me?""No problem," he said. "Nice meeting you, Kevin," he added before carrying away the boxes in his arms.Kevin? Deborah nearly burst a blood vessel holding in her nervous laughter at the younger man’s mistake."Hitch hiker?" Kyle repeated the moment Mick drove away in the van. "What were you thinking?"
