I am now an acquiring editor at Inspired Romance Novels!
Can't tell you how much I doubted my proofing and copy editing skills after I wrote the test and sent it back for review. However, after stewing and finally reaching the point of 'Oh well, what's the worse that can happen?', the email came in.
It's not a long story but one I won't bore with details.
That being said, my door is now officially open to Christian/Inspirational writers with potential. It doesn't take perfection to impress me, just consistency and well-thought-out plots.
While I may be demanding about pulling the best work out of a writer -- pushing them on to greater writing heights -- I'll be peppering my edits with encouragement and compliments. I'll expect the best from a writer but that writer can expect the best from me as well.
Goal for now: there's a big ol' epilogue staring at me, needing to be re-worked.
