What a delightful novella. I read it in one evening. I personally love all things British and all things cowboy/western. So the fact that this little story was about an English woman and a handsome cowboy really hit the spot. I would have loved to have seen this as a full length novel or a series. The ending felt a little rushed; but I suppose that when you really get into a story it always finishes too soon. I have also read "Texas Whirlwind" by her and have not been disappointed in the least by what I've read of hers.I also think that the characters and their relationships with the Lord are realistic. They're not perfect but they struggle and seek God. Very encouraging.
I hope to read more of her books!

Gave it 3 stars for the writing style and the plot. The style was smooth and pleasing to read. It was very easy to get engrossed in the story because of that.
The plot was fairly standard, but pretty well done. I like that it was a "christian" story. That's a big part of the reason that I purchased it.
Characters were another story, so to speak.
The male lead had anger management issues early in the book. Understandably, given his circumstances. However, he went from angry to sweet and stable without much reason.
The female lead was clingy and desperate. Very difficult to really root for. She started chasing him when he was acting like an angry jerk. But, he looked really really handsome I guess. Desperation (in love) isn't very attractive for a male or female character.
The main characters just never got fully developed and neither did their relationship. I think the author needed a longer story to flesh out some growth for both of these characters.
I'd read something else from this author, but I don't think I'd purchase anything else.
A quick, fun read!, July 2, 2012

This is a cute easy read. I picked it up and did not put my kindle down until I was done! Melody is a spirited young woman who fears being alone forever. Avery, the vulernable fireman, just moved in down the hall. Add Barney, the troublesome little puppy, to the mix and you end up in love with all three!

This book is an easy, quick read, but leaves the reader a little disappointed. There isn't much depth. If that's what you're looking for, this is it.
A cute but short British romance, June 25, 2012
This review is from: Melody's Knight (Kindle Edition)
I liked this book because it had a fun little story with a bit of action and it was a page turner but didn't go on forever. Although a fun book, I would not want to read a whole series about these people. I like how the author kept it short and sweet and I wish there were more books like this out there. This is a great book to just chill with and read the story for fun and not have to really be as into it as most other lengthy books.

I've just found this author, read the excerpt and couldn't resist buying Melody's Knight. It lived up to my expectations and I loved the humour (we spell it like that in New Zealand). I also love dogs - loveable but frustrating at times. I couldn't resist buying a few more of her kindle books as I enjoyed this one so much. It's great finding another talented author.

I thought this was a wonderful book! yes, it was short but it was a great read in my opinion. A little christian with some romance and the plot was great! I do think that they could have elongated the engagement part and told us about their wedding and what not. other than that, it was wonderful indeed!

When Melody takes an evening run to pray about her future husband, it seems like an answered prayer when an engagement ring lands on her feet...literally. When Avery Knight's girlfriend turns down his proposal, he throws the ring, not seeing where it lands. When Melody returns the ring the next day (turns out they are neighbors), a friendship and flirtation develops.I liked this book. The characters are great...unique and well-developed. Barney, Avery's dog, is a fun addition and serves as a great supporting character. Melody's love of fencing is also an off-beat but interesting part of the story development.
However, the end of the story felt a little off....like it ended too soon with parts of the plot (like the crazy ex-girlfriend) not wrapped up.
Still, I enjoyed the book. The colorful characters and funny situations made for a light, enjoyable read.

It was a cute, light story about a British woman living in Oregon--dreaming of finding the perfect cowboy to marry. The opening chapter had me hooked. Some of the dialog was hard to follow because of some formatting issues in the Kindle edition. I also was completely lost with the Irish woman's dialog. It was too much for this American reader to follow.
The book was much shorter than most of the novels I read. But, I thought the author did a good job of quickly introducing the characters and getting the reader to root for Melody's cause.

Searching for a sweet story you can curl up with for a quiet afternoon? Look no further. This sweet story touches the heart with engaging characters and a wholesome plotline--just what I was looking for... The sprinkles of humor and delectable real-to-life hero top off the story like icing on a cake.

I liked the book. I liked the story. I like the "transition of feelings". She adored him. He saw her like a sister, but then found he actually couldn't live without her. LOVED THAT!!! I found myself wishing it wasn't ending.

Although I am not an animal lover, I must say that Brarney (the dog) in this books was very funny. I think he is the one that got Melody and Avery together. Melody and her friend Nikki were two gals from England, and it was so funny how Nikki keep trying to set Melody up with guys because she was married and Melody was not. Melody got into more trouble than any one girl should ever. She didn't want Avery but he was always getting her out of trouble and I imagain you can guess how the end came out. Bonnie is a great writter and I wished it was a longer story it ended too fast, I read it in one night,

Oh my goodness. I just finished reading, Bonnie Blythe's book, Melody's Knight. Can you say...Hot fudge sundae loaded-with-the-works on a hot summer's day! Fresh and crisp as early spring... and equally delightful!Bravo, Bonnie. Encore!
The characters were so much fun. The heroine is from England and finds herself in the most precarious circumstances. Curtains on fire, a robber, two men with obviously only one thing on their minds, a burning trash can, and much more. Avery, her fireman hero and neighbor, is always rescuing her from these zany mishaps.
Oh trust me...You won't want to miss this one.
These characters will be forever etched in my memory.
Thanks, Bonnie, for the wonderful forget-me-not story!
