An 'Emotional' Writing Exercise

While watching an emotional movie scene, does your mind start popping with descriptive words? I'm adding an emotional scene here from one of my favorite movies, Truly, Madly, Deeply which has left me in tears countless times--yes, the scene is just that good (doesn't hurt that pre-Severus Snape Alan Rickman is one of the characters).
See if you can come up with new descriptive phrases to explain what you're seeing. Try to apply your new descriptive phrases to your work in progress.

Warning: mild language.

  1. Never seen the movie. Really didn't understand the scene, but I'm sure it was good.

    1. It's sort of the tongue-in-cheek English version of 'Ghost', minus the criminal aspect. Simply, Nina and Jamie are in a romantic relationship and a music partnership. When Jamie dies without warning, Nina is left struggling with her grief.
Juliette Stevenson's deep-gut reaction to Jamie's ghost is so powerful and so authentic, I'm almost wailing along with her.
