Writing Question Of The Day

I recently watched a music video. The music is heavier than I normally like and there is the presence of violence, but I found myself fascinated by the story line. The hero of the video is not what you would expect a hero to look like.

Question: does it make for a better read if your hero looks totally opposite of everything a typical hero should be...
