This was a wonderful book! Cassie and Quinn are missionaries in Columbia when the unthinkable happens and Quinn is taken captive. It has been almost 6 years and Cassie still prays that news will come of his return. She soon finds out that God doesn't always answer prayers the way we think he should. News comes that Quinn has been released but there are some changes in the man she lost and remembers. Quinn finds a few changes on the homefront as well. The couple struggle to find God in the midst of lost hopes, and dreams.
When the worst happens, we ask "Why God?" This author does an amazing job of telling an all too realistic story filled with pain and showing God's glorious answer when a broken missionary asks that very question out of despair. This is a beautiful love story, between a husband and wife, and also between God and his creation. I love the journey this author takes her readers on as it leads to trusting in God's plan.

I Haven't got enough words to say or to express my feelings about this book. It touched me from the very first paragraph. Missionaries who lay down their life to serve our Lord.Being held prisoner's and the struggles they have to battle. This book will leave a mark on your heart. This book deserves more then 5 stars. I believe the Lord was with you Kim while you wrote this wonderful story. This is a must read.

Wonderful story about a missionary family's trials and tribulations. Quinn, captive for six years, returns to his wife and a daughter who was born while he was in captivity. The challenges this family face as Quinn questions his faith in God and Cassie struggles to revive a relationship are well portrayed in this story. It was hard to put down and I found myself pulled into the story. I appreciated the author's sharing the difficulties of faith in the midst of trials. I highly recommend this book.
