A candid writing moment with Karen Cogan: What some writers will do to "get into their character's head"

"I had a tense scene to describe in a story I was recently writing. It required a scene between two fighters using tae kwon do. My daughter has a black-belt, so I asked her a lot about the scene. Then I actually acted it out to see how each fighter would move. It was engrossing. I actually felt like I was in the scene. It was fun to write." Karen Cogan,  author of Fragile Dreams,  A Flame In The Wind, Her Own Sweet Time, and the soon-to-be-released Runaway Hearts
