Cora Stephens is a typical high school senior, loving life in the small town of Davis, Georgia. Everything changes, though, one rainy afternoon when her world comes crashing down around her at the hands of betrayal. Then, just as she's beginning to pick up the pieces, something unimaginable happens, and she's forced to learn how to rely on faith, family and friends to regain her happiness.

PROLOGUE

In the southern part of Georgia, there’s a small town by the name of Davis. This is where I was born and raised, and where I still reside. It’s from this town that my friends can’t wait to escape. I love this place, though. I love the small white churches, the historical downtown buildings, and the fact that everybody knows you. I love that there’s only one high school and that I’ve had classes with the same people since I was five. I love sitting under huge oak trees, watching pink flowers bloom on Dogwood trees, and inhaling the sweet scent of honey-suckles. I even love the tiny, run-down corner shops with their chipped paint and worn-out signs.
It’s strange; not long ago, I would have laughed if someone had told me I’d come to love all these things. Instead of cherishing the quaintness of my hometown, I was dying to leave it. Dreams of a bigger and better life occupied my every thought. I had such different plans for my future, but now I’m happy here, blessed with family and friends. I’m grateful for all I have, and simply glad to be alive.

Biography

I'm a brand new author from a small town in Georgia, just trying to get my name out to the literary world. I graduated college with a degree in Public Relations and I'm currently employed as the Coordinator of Operations at Ribley Family Chiropractic. I have a wonderful husband of almost four years, and a precious one-year old daughter.
I've always wanted to be a writer because, like most other writers, I love the feeling of creating characters, story lines, and entire imaginary worlds in which people can lose themselves. It is my goal to bring a little joy and faith to a society where those two sentiments are becoming more and more rare. Thank you for taking an interest in me and giving me the chance to achieve that goal. Happy reading!
