The route Victoria Pitts Caine took to research her novel, Cairo

"I wanted the information to be as authentic as possible so I emailed a Coptic Priest, interviewed a middle eastern gentleman about the culture and what would or wouldn't be proper, and an ex-American Embassy employee as to what would happen when an American went missing in a foreign country.
I included the two riddles in the story and both of them just came to me, but the second one surprised even me - I had no idea how to solve it. I just wrote it down and worked it all out later, figuring out my own clues from mythology and the Christian religion in Egypt as I wrote the book." Author, Victoria Pitts Caine
