A Candid Writing Moment with Alice Wootson

"I got the idea for writing Border Love when my husband and I spent several winters in Brownsville, Texas. I was surprised at how close we were to Mexico. A chain-link fence was the only thing separating the two countries and much of the area along the fence was isolated. You could look through the fence and see Mexico on the other side of a shallow, narrow Rio Grande River. For a small toll, you could walk or drive across the bridge into Mexico. This information triggered my idea to set several novels of romantic suspense on this border and to feature Border Patrol Agents. After much research, I wrote Border Love." Alice Wootson

Two devoted border patrol agents...two wounded hearts…

Agent Brooke Hudson’s faith is shaken when she’s obligated to arrest a child as an illegal immigrant on the Texas-Mexican border. Though tempted to resign, she decides to try reassignment instead.

After a violent, passionate outburst against the perpetrator of a mass murder, troubled Agent Darien McKee is forced to transfer. Will he be able to handle his new position?

Brooke and Darien are assigned partners. When a deadly terrorist attack rocks their world, they lean on each other for support and promptly fall in love. But will an evil force tear them apart?
