When Sarah moved with her mamm and bruder from Ohio to a small Amish community in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, following her daed's death, she left all of her friends behind including a man she hoped to someday marry. She became inconsolable for a brief time and had difficulty making new friends. Then a handsome stranger noticed her from where he was seated across from her during one of their morning worship services. Even though she knew that looking at the men was strictly forbidden during the services, she couldn't get him out of her mind. From that inconspicuous beginning grew a love affair and marriage that would grow ever stronger through many life changing and life threatening events over the next several years. She eventually came to realize that the greatest sacrifice of all was the one that was willing to give up everything for the gift of life.
