Can't Read This Book Without Getting Angry

I love a good story that pulls me into the plot right away. If the characters make me cry, it's a keeper. However, the book I'm reading is a true crime - Imperfect Justice by Jeff Ashton. I tend to stay away from true crime because I get too involved. But when the story involves liars ... Oh, man. My blood boils!

One thing I can't stand are habitual liars. I hate the manipulation, the stringing along and the fact they're so twisted they couldn't tell the truth to save their own lives. I trust people until I discover every word out of their mouth is false.

Next on my list of 'don't likes' are people who - when you've told them the truth or warned them that the people they're friendly with, maybe even something they're involved in, isn't quite above board -  spin off into this weird place where they start making personal attacks against you.

Once upon a time, liars, manipulators, cheats and those who attacked my character would have made me doubt myself and my own intelligence. Not now. Now, I mark them and make sure I have little or nothing to do with that person until such a time they've either changed or have decided to keep on the destructive path they're going.

Doesn't mean I stop praying for them, but I shake the dust off my shoes and keep traveling a road where I find contentment in knowing I've removed a little bit of unwanted drama from my life.

Goal for now: write.
