Time Change. I'm Surviving It ... Barely

It was two o'clock am when the time jumped ahead. Yes, I was awake to witness this grand event. In fact, I was doing housework and watching a movie. Crazy, huh? The up side: YAY! Days are longer! Down side: it's going to mess with my sleeping pattern - if you could call staying awake until I can't stay awake any longer a sleeping pattern.

On a sad note, the cats have abandoned me at night. Yale has his 'tent' chair, and Ivy gravitates to the futon. They wait until I fall asleep and then they leave. Talk about ungrateful! I gave up a whole side of the bed for Yale (Ivy couldn't care less where she sleeps as long as it's one of her brother's fav. napping places. See earlier blog about cat-in-the-manger attitude) and now he abandons me.

Could it be, they're taking me for granted? Guess I'll have to do something about that, like closing the spare bedroom door while I'm working and they're in the living room. They hate that! Maybe I'll talk on the phone more often: Yale starts mauling me, meowing, giving me his big 'it's play time' stare. And if that doesn't work, I'll shut them out of the bedroom, after I've gone to bed. No, I wouldn't do that. There's no window in my room and I don't really care for the dark.

Nah, that's too much effort. I'll simply put up with them (just as I always do) and they'll continue to walk over me - quite literally, when they need to get from one side of the bed to the other, why would they take the long route around my feet?.

In case you think I'm complaining about the time change, I'm not. I actually love that the days are longer. I always aim to celebrate the longest day of the year and somehow never do. How does one celebrate something like that? Obviously, not by staying in the house, or going shopping. Ideas anyone?

Goal for now: take something for this migraine. Why am I getting so many of these lately?
