"A Hero’s Homecoming is sweet, sorrowful and inspirational. This truly is a book readers should pick up and read. If Charlotte and Rich are total opposites, they have both had many heartaches and problems in their past, which seems to make them stronger and able to cope with the present. With a budding romance and some great side characters, readers will not be disappointed in this book." Matilda, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read August 31, 2012
    By Lewis
    Format:Kindle Edition
A Hero's Homecoming by Carlene Havel is a heartwarming story. Courageous Rich Martino comes home to discover friends and family believe he died in combat. Although his Air Force service record is heroic and outstanding, his personal life is chaos. Multiple ex-wives, an ill father, and children he hasn't seen in years are a few reasons for disaster on the home front--besides the fact, of course, that he is supposed to be dead. Then he meets Charlotte. Charlotte has a bit of baggage herself, but she has managed to work through hers. Will Rich? This story is set in Texas, and it is a Christian romance. You can read it in public without fear of blushing. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We need more writers like Carlene Havel.

    More About the Author

    Biography

Carlene Havel writes Christian-themed romances and historical novels set in Biblical times. She's lived in Turkey, Republic of the Philippines, and all over the United States. Carlene worked for a banana importer, a software development company, and everything in between. She attended several colleges and universities, including one that--to her mother's surprise--granted her a diploma. "A Hero's Homecoming" is her first published novel, and there are others in the pipeline. Watch for "Daughter of the King" coming in the fall of 2012 from Prism Book Group. It's the story of Princess Michal, daughter of Saul, the first King of Israel. Interestingly, Michal is the only woman the Bible describes as being in love with a man. Who was the object of her affections? Can't wait for the book to find out? Check the eighteenth chapter of I Samuel in the Old Testament.
