Ever wonder if a writer steps away from the computer? Author Carlene Havel can tell you

I’m pleased to host a Prism Book Group author, Carlene Havel. Interesting fact: when I first met Carlene online in late fall 2012, I realized I'd been living in her hometown until May of that year but our paths never crossed.
 Tell us a bit about you and your background.
 I was born and (mostly) raised in Texas small towns.  I grew up wondering why my family was so outrageously different from those I saw on television.  We moved frequently, and my mom never wore pearls or high heels in the kitchen.  I married a military man, so the pattern of constant relocations continued into adulthood.  Now that we’ve put down roots, I draw on memories of the places I’ve lived, the  peculiar people I’ve known, and the variety of jobs I’ve held for writing material.
What are your hobbies away from the computer?
I enjoy creative activities—sewing, knitting, embroidery, crochet, and a bit of painting now and then.  Several people tried to show me how to crochet, but I could never get the hang of it.  I finally taught myself from a learn-how book.  I tried cross stitch and needlepoint, but found both moved along too slowly for my tastes.  In addition to sporadic crafting...READ ENTIRE POST HERE
