"....a fun novella with some serious undertones." Reviewer Lynda Edwards EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU available now!

EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU
by Lisa J Lickel.
Review by Lynda Edwards.
"Like many others, I find the movie industry an interesting contrast between reality and fantasy, never knowing what is real and what is merely supposed to look real. This short novella explores that idea by throwing someone entirely new to the world of moviemaking unexpectedly into a leading role.

This is a fun novella with some serious undertones; the main characters come from different places, both geographically and figuratively. Reconciling the two worlds is not without its hiccups or humorous snafus. I like that the hero questions whether he'll be able to remember who he is after the speech and expression coaches, make-up artists, and wardrobe people get through with transforming him into the latest Hollywood heartthrob.

There is a nice parallel in here about how we all wear a mask of one sort or another, even if acting isn’t our profession. Discerning what is real and what is merely an imitation is key to surviving the world of make-believe but it also plays an important role in reality's relationships.

My only complaint is the sudden switch from no relationship to a future together. It's probably a result of this being a novella and the quicker pace, but I felt like I missed a page or two somehow. It did not feel like much of a payoff for my tastes but overall this is a nice book with a lovely storyline.

People fascinated by Hollywood will enjoy the behind the scenes feel to it, but it may be a bit too real for those same reasons. It doesn’t always portray the glamour—more often the dirt beneath the gilding. But that's reality--and it also makes for a great story.

I received a complimentary e-copy of this novella in exchange for this honest review. All of the opinions expressed are my own."
