Take Advantage of Do-It-Yourself Vidoes and save money

I was the fourth of five children in my family, so when it came time to clean house, I was pushed out the door to play (basically, so I wouldn't be under foot while work was being done.) What ended up happening, I wasn't taught how to clean.

If something needed fixing, I'd take it to my dad. He was a real-life hero. Unfortunately, not knowing how to clean and fix things followed me into my adult years. However, I've since learned that it's far more practical to know how to clean and fix things than to hire someone.

Youtube videos are great for teaching how to clean and fix. Yesterday, I tackled two drains that needed to be unclogged. If I'd hired a plumber, it would have cost a lot of money. Yes, it was a disgusting, messy job, but I did it and I'm pleased with that achievement. It's the little accomplishments that really bolster your confidence. And helps you keep money in your pocket.
