Taking breaks seem to be vital to the artistic mind; at least I'm learning that works for me. Today had a scrumptiously productive day. Worked on three chapters, finished 2; nearly finished the third one. Worked on my course. **And** I cleaned the spare room -- gave it a good scrub, vac'ed, mopped and wiped down wall boards -- smells so good: mixed fragrances of Mr. Clean lemon-scent and Fleecy. The spare room is where I do the bulk of my 'physical' writing. The ki'ies helped; they figure that if they leave enough fur around they're giving the place that quaint, homey feeling. Yeah, homey alright ... Tossed most of the fabric (comforters, fancy pillows and end table covers) in the the dryer to get out as much of their decorative touches as I could. Surprisingly, there wasn't much. And I don't mind a bit.
Update on the Battle of the Bedtime Routine: doing wonderfully! So pleased with how it's working for me. Still setting my alarm for a few minutes before 11pm (it just went off), and it gets me in the frame of mind to start slowing down. If I'm this productive after a week of a bedtime routine, I'm willing to keep up with this idea. Sure beats feeling frustrated and aggravated by staying up all night and sleeping in until quite late in the day. Next, I'll work harder at implementing exercise -- particularly the kind that has me going outside.
Goal for now: look after ki'ies, finish up this last chapter and then relax.
